In the Company of Loki (the Cat)

Loki sneaks beneath the
sleeping bag
To hide from the night
or the Knight
To cower under cover of
dark-white light
The nocturnal eyes ever-never
move in-ward
The fang that bites can't quite
bite itself
Were it willing and hungry
to do so.
The golf-ball dimpled (shadowed)
concrete walls
Radiate austerity and one
or two screws
Perfect for the occasional (Indiana)
license plate
No bars on these windows though
some might say
A solitary 1B apartment is worse
than prison.
